“David assembled all Israel in Jerusalem to bring up the ark of the LORD to the place he had prepared for it.”
— Chronicles 15:3
Let's take a ride on the time machine and go back in time 3,000 years ago to the Jerusalem of the First Temple period, and visit the biblical City of David, the fascinating archeological site where the Bible litteraly comes to life. We will visit the remainings of the Palace of King David, the walls of the ancient city, and descend underground and walk in the Hezekiah's Tunnel, the water system of Jerusalem from 2,700 years ago.
From the First Temple period to the Second Temple period 2,000 years ago where we will visit the Western Wall, the last and only remaining of the Great Temple that was destroyed by the Romans in the year 70 a.C
As an option we can visit the Western Wall tunnels (upon availability, local guided visit has to be booked in advance) and finish the day in the Jewish quarter for a visit of the Ha Hurva Synagogue, lunch and shopping in the galleries of the Roman Cardo.
