Geopolitical Tour of Gaza Envelope following October 7th
On the morning of October 7th, 2023, Hamas terror organization launched from the Gaza strip the worst terror attack in the history of the state of Israel. The attack targeted several towns, communities and farms in the Gaza Envelope, murdering about 1200 and kidnapping about 250 Israelis to the Gaza strip.
The Geopolitical Tour in the Gaza Envelope following October 7th will give you an overview of the event of that day and deeper understanding about the geopolitical history of the region and the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
We will start the day in the town of Sderot, the closest city to the Gaza strip, which has been targeted by rockets from the Gaza strip since 2001, starting with a panoramic lookout on the Gaza strip, we will learn about the resilience of the people living in Sderot, and then we will visit ground zero of the Police Station, center of the attack on October 7th.
We will drive the on Route 232 the "Blood Route" passing through the Kibbutz along the road like Kfar Aza, Mefalsim, Nachal Oz and Be'eri where Hamas terrorists invaded the communities, murdered and kidnapped civilians on October 7th, and we will make a stop at one of the many shelters along the road.
Next stop will be the Nova Memorial site in Re'im where Hamas terrorists attacked the Nova Music Festival, killing 364 young men and women and kidnapping 45.
Not far from there in Tkuma, the Burnt Cars Deposit is located where over 1,200 burnt and damaged cars are stored, testimony of the horrific massacre that took place on that day.
After such emotionally loaded visits, a little hope visiting “Shuva Ahim” rest area where a devoted group of volunteers operates a rest area for the soldiers coming from Gaza, where they provide meals and much more for army units on their brief breaks from combat. Here it's possible to volunteer and to meet the soldiers showing them support.
Time permitting, we can also visit Rachel’s house in Ofakim where terrorists held Rachel and David, an elderly couple as hostages in their home. Rachel, who speaks Arabic, calmed the terrorists and offered them tea and cookies holding them for several hours until Special Forces broken into the house killing the terrorists and freeing them.
